A couple of days ago, I predicted here that a “terrorist” attack on the United States would take place. Now one has, in New Orleans. Did I have foreknowledge of this attack? I sure did. In fact, I told you what the foreknowledge was in the post itself: You can’t spend decades supporting apartheid, conquest, occupation, and genocide, then take pride in shutting down the anti-war movement, and not expect to be attacked in retaliation. That’s what Americans and Israelis did, and that’s what happened to them. What did you think was going to happen? The victims of your psychopathic depredations were going to roll over and play dead forever?
Predictably, the perspicacious Joe Biden has issued a comical statement saying that “there is no justification for violence of any kind.” Right. Here are the headlines from Al Jazeera this morning. There’s a good reason why New Orleans isn’t at the top. Of all the people out there “hellbent” on carnage, the New Orleans attacker ranks a piker. We’re the ones hellbent on carnage. We, the Civilized World.

There’s “no justification for violence of any kind”–except the kind we’ve authored with impunity for decades. That kind always has a justification. The justification is that in the eyes of the mighty, might makes right. The problem is, that only works as a justification if you gouge out every other eye. And so far, no one has. Not for lack of effort.
New Orleans is just the beginning. I have a hunch that there’s more to come. Call it “foreknowledge,” if you like, but don’t blame the messenger.
