I’ve preserved the material below for historical reasons. The Institute, as directed and co-directed by me and Joseph Biehl, is currently defunct, and is no longer associated with or connected to Felician University. For an explanation, see the home page. I will, at first opportunity, be informing members of the Institute’s Advisory Board of its current situation.
The Institute for Ethics and Public Affairs is an academic center, housed within the Department of Philosophy at Felician University, for interdisciplinary inquiry into topics in moral and political philosophy. Directed by Irfan Khawaja of Felician’s Philosophy Department, the Institute aims to stimulate discussion of diverse topics in moral philosophy through its annual Conference each spring, a Symposium each fall, and Current Research Workshops during both semesters. Though mostly focused on academic-style moral philosophy, the Institute hopes also to facilitate interdisciplinary inquiry in public affairs, and to draw on the resources of the non-academic community in its projects. The Institute is governed by an Institute Board consisting of the members of the Felician University Department of Philosophy, and is advised by its Advisory Board, below.
