I see that you’ve tagged your post “Liberty and the Left.” Have libertarians succeeded to any extent at convincing conventional leftists or liberals of the virtues of libertarianism, or is this more a matter of pushing libertarianism itself to the left?

Our particular merry band of rovers (C4SS/ALL/etc.) is focused both on pulling libertarians leftward and pulling leftists libertarianward. Although we obviously haven’t yet transmogrified the political landscape, we have made a number of converts, both among leftists and among libertarians. Many have said “I never felt the appeal of those views until I saw you guys’ defense of them.”

Also, do you have publication outlets earmarked for these symposia, or are you looking for one? Though I’m no longer actively involved in the editorial process, Reason Papers now essentially specializes in publishing Author Meets Critics symposia. So it’s something to consider.

Thanks, we might look into that.
