I’m Proud to Present My Latest Academic Credential

Unfortunately, the formatting dropped out, but the original says:

Presented to: Irfan Khawaja

for the successful completion of: Drug Free Workplace Program

course completed on: October 15, 2015

The original document can be inspected at the Bureau internationale des poids et mesures, Sevres, France.

For my next project, I’ll be pursuing yet another certification, Preventing Discrimination and Sexual Violence: [Compliance with] Title IX, VAWA and the Clery Act. And then it’s back to the old grind–perusing Jobs for Preventers of Discrimination and Sexual Violence,  sending the old portfolios out there, attending the APDSVA smoker, etc. etc.

    • Holding? After an accomplishment like this? I’m reminded of a passage from Ayn Rand’s Letters:

You see, I am an atheist and I have only one religion: regulatory compliance. There is nothing to approach the sanctity of the highest type of man possible and there is nothing that gives me the same reverent feeling, the feeling when one’s spirit wants to kneel, bareheaded before an online regulatory compliance certification tutorial. Do not call it hero-worship, because it is more than that. It is a kind of strange and improbable white heat where admiration becomes religion, and religion becomes regulatory compliance, and regulatory compliance — the whole of one’s life.

Or as Miss Rand so eloquently put it in Atlas Shrugged:

Do not lose your knowledge that man’s proper estate is an upright posture, an intransigent mind and a step that travels unlimited roads en route to Mandatory Online Workplace Regulatory Certification.
