Ciattarelli is a fascist, Sherrill is a fraud, and Kaplan lacks clarity. Benavides is pro-ITA, anti-ICE, anti-IHRA, pro-divestment, and a paradigm of honesty and commonsense. If you live in New Jersey, write her in.
It’s time to stop falling for both Republican gaslighting and Democratic blackmail techniques. The Republicans have made amply clear that they stand for fascism. The Democrats have made clear that they stand for nothing. Never forget that it was Heinrich Bruning, the leader of the Zentrum (Centrist) party in Weimar Germany, who helped pave the way for Hitler in the name of petty turf battles and machine politics. Mikie Sherrill, Charles Schumer, and Mario Cuomo, et al are all the twenty-first century incarnations of Bruning, racing to lead us to the same place. They give the impression of respectable moderation and conventional respectability, but so did the Zentrum. It’s a fraud.
The question to ask is whether you’re willing to follow such people into fascism, or ready to resist the descent. Benavides is the face of the resistance, so I’m happy to endorse her; as I’ve said in earlier post, she’s already gotten my vote. More than that, she has my respect, which is more than can be said of almost any Democrat or Republican in Jersey politics, or frankly, anywhere else.
“Ciattarelli is a fascist, Sherrill is a fraud”
You say that like those are bad things.
