I wanted to welcome a new blogger to Policy of Truth, my brother, Suleman Khawaja. Suleman is currently a hospitalist at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey, where (in Ridgewood, not at Valley) he also runs a private practice as an expert witness on a variety of medico-legal issues. He received his BA in Political Science (minoring in Philosophy) at Duke University, and got his MD at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. By a strange coincidence, both Suleman and I studied extensively with Alasdair MacIntyre–as a graduate student at Notre Dame in my case, and as an undergraduate at Duke in his.
Suleman will be blogging here primarily on health care issues, with a particular focus on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Welcome!

Did you significantly change your website? I see only three posts on it, but I seem to remember that it had far more than that. I’ve been meaning to spend more time at your website, but my life seems too “non-finely tuned” to permit me the time for it. Since today is Rosh Hashana, I suppose I can make a New Year’s resolution to do better in the year to come.

Yes, I revamped the site and deleted a whole host of posts. In part, this was due a shift in certain beliefs and a desire to start afresh, but admittedly I have failed to post regularly. Fortunately, I am blessed to read nearly all your posts and still enjoy them thoroughly. I also managed to read your chapter (and the entire book) in the book Religious Upbringing and the Costs of Freedom, and there was much to resonate with.
I am flattered that you had such an intention, though there was nothing worthy of reading there!
